The Italian Beauty Monica Bellucci was born in Umbria, the beautiful city of Italy on 30th September 1942. Her mother Maria Gustinelli, a Painter and Father Luigi Bellucci, who owned a trucking company. She wanted to be a Lawyer at the age of Sixteen and attended the Liceo classico in pursuit of the same. She modeled to pay her tuition at the University of Perugia but the lifestyle and glamour of modelling far outshone any attractions the law held for her and she quit her studies in law to pursue modelling full time. In 1988, Monica Bellucci shifted base to Milan, a major European fashion center. There she was signed by Elite Model Management. By the next year, Monica Bellucci was already making a name for herself as a fashion model in Paris and across the Atlantic, in New York City. Amongst her clients she named Dolce & Gabbana and French Elle. The same year, 1989, Monica Bellucci decided to pursue acting and started taking classes. But her modelling career kept going strong and continues to do so. In February 2001, Monica Bellucci featured on the cover of Esquire’s feature on Desire. She was also a prominent part of an article on the five senses. Two years later, Monica Bellucci was featured in Maxim. In 2004, Monica Bellucci was at the pinnacle of AskMen’s 100 Most Beautiful Women in the World annual list. At present Monica Bellucci is a face of a range of Dior Cosmetics and she is still considered an Italian sex symbol.
Monica Bellucci played some minor roles in La Riffa (1991) and Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992). In 1996 a César Award nomination for best supporting actress in L’Appartement got people to take her more seriously. Over the years, through roles in films such as Malèna (2000), Brotherhood of the Wolf, and Irréversible (2002), Monica Bellucci has become fairly well-known for her acting abilities. Other films she has acted in include Tears of the Sun (2003), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), The Passion of the Christ (2004), The Brothers Grimm (2005), Le Deuxième souffle (2007), Don’t Look Back (2009), and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010).
